We've been having an awesome time here at Transformation Christian Fellowship in the month of August learning more about relationships through the sermon series entitled, "Kingdom Connections"! In this series, Pastor Brandon has been teaching us how to sever, establish, and maintain relationships the way God intends for us all to do from the Word of God!
One of those important relationships to understand and honor is marriage! There are many misconceptions concerning marriage so here are 3 things that marriage is not:
1. Marriage Was Not Created For The Significant Other To Complete You!
2. Marriage Was Not Created Solely For Your Happiness!
3. Marriage Was Not Created For Your "Come Up"!
In Ephesians 5:28-29, the apostle Paul shares with the saints at Ephesus and all believers universally that, "... husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church". Ultimately, marriage is a lifetime process of one man and one woman becoming one!
