At Transformation Christian Fellowship, we had the privilege of hearing a critical message from our guest speaker, Bishop Clifford Johnson from Mount Pleasant Church & Ministries in Baltimore, Maryland. He delivered a powerful word titled: “What Shall the Uncompromisingly Righteous Do?” that challenged and encouraged us to stand firm in an ever-changing world.
Pastor Brandon Hill continued this thought, emphasizing key principles we must hold onto as the uncompromisingly righteous in this season. Here are the keys you need to remember:
1. Trust That God Is Still in Control
No matter how unstable things appear, God is still sovereign over everything. Psalm 11:3 (NKJV) asks, "If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?" The answer is trust in the One who never changes.
Even when governments shift, economies fluctuate, and culture drifts, God’s kingdom remains unshaken. Isaiah 46:10 reminds us that God has already declared the end from the beginning—His plan will stand.
2. Stand Firm and Refuse to Compromise
Bishop Johnson and Pastor Brandon both emphasized the importance of staying rooted in biblical convictions. The pressures of society may tempt us to water down our faith, conform to cultural norms, or compromise our values. However, as the righteous:
Daniel refused to bow in Babylon (Daniel 6).
The three Hebrew boys stood their ground against Nebuchadnezzar (Daniel 3).
Joseph kept his integrity in the face of temptation (Genesis 39).
In times of uncertainty, we must remain steadfast in truth, even when it’s unpopular.
3. Stay Committed to Prayer and Faithfulness
Prayer is not optional—it is essential for the righteous! The more uncertain the world becomes, the more we need to seek God for wisdom, strength, and direction.
Prayer does more than change circumstances—it aligns us with God’s will. We must stay faithful in:✔ Daily prayer and devotion✔ Worship and gratitude✔ Serving and building the kingdom
Even when the enemy tries to distract and discourage us, prayer keeps us anchored.
4. Keep Walking by Faith, Not Fear
Faith is what distinguishes the righteous from the world. In seasons of uncertainty, fear tries to paralyze, but faith moves forward.
Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us:"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."
There will be moments when we don’t understand what God is doing, but we must trust that He is working behind the scenes.
5. Stay Connected to a Strong Community
Bishop Johnson reminded us that isolation is a tool of the enemy. The righteous must stay rooted in community, surrounded by believers who will strengthen, encourage, and hold them accountable.
In times of difficulty, we must lean into the body of Christ rather than withdraw. Now more than ever, we need each other.
Final Encouragement
As we navigate this season, remember this: The righteous are not abandoned, and God is still in control. If we trust in Him, stand firm, remain prayerful, walk in faith, and stay connected to our spiritual community, we will overcome!
